Miss Sparkle
at Oscars
Boyz Town certainly
sparkled on Saturday, September 12 2009 with the appearance at
Oscars of International Drag Comedian and vocalist Davina Sparkle in
her 'live and Dangerous' show – a fundraising evening for
Thais4life to benefit the 66 children at Baan Jing Jai.
The show opened with traditional Thai dancing from Oscars very
own Ta and Bird, spectacularly costumed and followed by Tam with a
Chinese song and fan dance.
The packed house together with dozens of passersby standing on the
Soi were then treated to a 45 minute show from a really true
professional thoroughly enjoying her fine voice, political
incorrectness and banter with the audience.
Thanks Davina, it was great.
A raffle was held with prizes donated by local businesses and two
very special prizes of 1,000 baht gift vouchers donated by Laszlo
and James, always great supporters of our charities.
The raffle raised 10,500 baht and Michael Burchall former owner of
Cockpit and Top Man who is back holidaying in Pattaya kindly donated
a litre bottle of Johnny Walker which he had won to be auctioned and
this raised a further 2,100 baht thanks to Glen of Copa Showbar.
A crazy auction at 20 baht a bid was held for a bottle of Johnny
Walker 12 year old Gold Label and this raised 4380 baht eventually
going to Glenn of Copa who had the final bid. In all 16,980 was
raised.
Special thanks to Wally of Thais4Life, Jim of Boyz, Boyz, Boyz,
Glenn and Peter of Copa Showbar, Panorama, Oscars, Le Café Royale,
Printer Graham and all who attended.
